Biography:

Jake Carlon is a composer, guitarist, and musical director from Spokane, Washington currently residing in Memphis, Tennessee in pursuit of a graduate degree in music.

Consistently performed by groups such as the WSU Symphonic Orchestra, BMC New Music Ensemble, and the St. Thomas More Chapel Choirs, Jake’s work has been enthusiastically embraced for its lively and vibrant sound worlds. The past several years, his music has been regularly featured at regional conferences, contests, and festivals such as FOCAM (Festival of Contemporary Artists in Music), Brevard Music Center Summer Festival & Institute, and the Northwest Horn Symposium.

As an active performer, he constantly is taking on new performance experiences in all different types from instrumental performance to Acting/Theater to Sacred Music. He has been involved in many performance and competition opportunities on Classical Guitar from features with local orchestras, numerous solo performances, continual participation in competitions, and being the 1st Chair guitarist of the WSU Guitar Ensemble.

Jake holds Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Music Composition from Washington State University and is currently pursing a Doctorate in Music Composition at the University of Memphis.

Jake is a member of BMI and his music can be found through his own publishing company Wild Hart Music Publishing.
